They're waking up enough to hit flies in my hometown lake! Haven't been back up north in a while & too cold there anyway..
2 nice crappie plus a couple small bass & a half-dozen nice bluegills. The 9-foot 5-weight got bent! And just a MAGNIFICENT DAY!!!

Jonathon

Yes, they're both upside down...?

P.S. Hot weather put them into spawning mode! They're bedding, hyperagressive...& BEAUTIFUL!
No matter how big the one you just caught is, there's always a bigger one out there somewhere...

Nice work. Nothing fries up better than crappie--except maybe bluegills. Or walleye.

Ummm, walleye dipped in drakes and fried in peanut oil! The weather in Michigan sucks, I went up north Thursday, rivers all running high and it was cold most of the day. Not much going on, lots of guys steelheading on one of favorites. Looks like the weather is going to get worse next week.

Bluegills turned on for me on Sunday...caught 'em for about two hours straight! A tiny #14 brown Woolly Bugger with gold bead-chain eyes drove them insane...caught enough for a fish fry! Too bad its in a city & right next to a golf course...not keeping 'em! Too bad, half of them were hand-sized!

Nice Jonathon, I love bluegills on a fly rod, and in the frying pan!
