old(very old) trout boat

memphis, tn Posts: 1	just bought an old 20 foot river fiberglass boat to redo--it is just an old vintage style trout boat. It is really in bad shape, but re doable. My question is does anyone have any idea about the specs of the "spoons" that run across the boat on the bottom side in the back where the motor mounts. These rounded ridges seem about 2 inches high with a gap to one side where I assume the jet motor is to be mounted -- or does it mount direclty behind this gap -- I don't know, but assume that. I am going to have to refinish the bottom and these are pretty beat up and was hoping to find some specs on these to redo. I think one person told me they are no longer used, so I might just remove these. Thanks in advance and I know you may want to throw out negative comments about this old boat, but believe me my wife has covered it all!
