Hi, I have a fisher emerald 9 ft. 3weight rod (graphite) I looked on the internet for fisher fly rods but no results showed up. I do know that J. KENNEDY FISHER was a rod maker that made high quality blanks for Sage, Winston etc. It is a gorgeous rod and is amazing for fishing brookies etc. Does anybody know of these rods? How about its value? Thank you for your help,
~Gaige W.

I remember Fisher's as high quality rods, but know little about the maker. Google "J Kennedy Fisher".

I have an old Fisher 9 1/2-foot 9-10 weight, 2-piece that I bought used many years ago for pike fishing, even caught a few on it! Nice rod but too heavy for my tastes these days, but if I ever get the chance to hit some saltwaters it will probably be going along with me...

No matter how big the one you just caught is, there's always a bigger one out there somewhere...

I was the New England Rep for Fisher. I may be a bit predjudice but I think they were perhaps the finest blank made. Joe gave up the business in the late 80's and his sons did not want to carry on. If you can find one go for it.

I'm pretty sure Fisher is no longer making rods or blanks. Back in the 1980's I used to buy his blanks for some of the rods I was building but have not seen any ads for his products in year.
Catskill fly fisher for fifty years.
