Lost Rod, Great Find

Posts: 19	Since my divorce four years ago, I've had a steady case of the "poors." I wont go into that sack of blues here. But I will say that I used to own some fabulous bamboo rods, and do a little traveling to Western rivers, etc. I sold all my bamboo, as I needed the dough. The only rod I had left was a four-piece Orvis Superfine from 1990. It's an 8-foot 4 weight that was a real smoothie. Well, last week, I get out the rod to go fishing. And one of the sections is missing! I retraced all my steps; even went to the last place I fished the week before. No sign of it. Bummer. Season over. Yesterday, while visiting a large sporting goods outfit (I'm not into the big chains, but I was killing time), I came across a St. Croix Imperial, a series I thought they had discontinued. Their 8 ft four weight is a very nice rod. Better still, the rod costs $179. Even better than that, I have a friend who is on St. Croix's pro-staff who can get me one at cost. I'll see if Orvis has a section they can sell me. But I'm a-gettin' that St. Croix. Affordable fly fishing, folks. It's do-able.

Moderator Palmyra PA Posts: 1722	I'll bet Orvis will take care of you. I lost a rod years ago, and the replacement I got for it became my all time favorite. I'm probably even glad for the loss now. Good luck.
