Well finally got out, what a beautiful day, even managed one fish in the net and lost two. But good lord it’s so good to be on my favorite river even though it’s still really winter up there.
Take care, Mike.

Mike,

I haven't gone yet. I will be soon. The Winter stoneflies are already doing their thing.

Winter in mid-March is not a bad thing. It helps feed moisture in the ground, and hopefully reduces the risk of Spring Forest fires.

Mike, my hometown lake is ICE-FREE! & In previous years, not long after the panfish move into the warming shallows to feed...RIGHT INTO FLYROD RANGE! This is usually where I catch my 1st fish of the year if no ice fishing success...except this year it got beat by a PM brown! Getting plenty of rain to bring steelies into the Clinton too...

I think we're about the 1st fishing story posters of the season! The MI Contingent is OUT & FISHING!!! FLYROD SEASON IS HERE!!

No matter how big the one you just caught is, there's always a bigger one out there somewhere...

We've had some fishing to olives for a few weeks here in Pennsylvania, but the cold blast the past few days has kept me home. Hoping to get out later in the week.
