Can anyone recommend the sizes for fall ISO duns and spinners on the Au Sable near Grayling ?

Well I would venture a guess of #10 - #12 as that is the size of the Iso's on the Delaware River in NY. It may be the same genus.

Ive been using a adams parachute in traditional gray and also in a purple color in size 12 and 14, you know were I like to fish, Ive done alright on small to medium size brookies, and finally got a medium size brown last week. Fishing tight to the wood, and bubble lines when you can find them. Water is very low and clear right now. It looks like a weather event for next week, and im going with streamers if it cools down and we get some much needed rain.

Well, I'm going up to the HW and South Branch tomorrow (sunday) for 3 days. Tied up some ISO duns (size 12) w the 4:1 muskrat grey: olive color and some ISO spinners w mahogany dub. Plan on using them in the evening.
Will let you know if I have any success.
Rain on Sunday when I go up so I'm hoping on some streamer fishing Monday (Oct 5) - have tied some Black Ghosts, Clousers and a few dark, rabbit strip cone-heads for that.
If I catch anything worth taking a picture I will post. :-)

Good luck, should be decent fishing. Just being in the quiet is worth it to me.

Well, caught only one smallish brown on a streamer in the SB - and nothing else - despite changing colors and streamer types. Gave up on streamers. Had better luck w nymphs - caught several small brookies and a ~12" brown. For me this was a successful trip...LOL. :-)

Yea Mike - later Sept thru October is really my favorite times to fish the Au Sable. I went first week in Oct and the Tamaracks were only just starting to turn - missed it by a few weeks...darn. Now, a long winter ahead but I will be back at it when the Henny's start up ! :-)
