This little Lake Ontario tributary looked beautiful in mid-November, but I found no lake run fish. From Little Sandy Creek in New York.

The four tallest peaks (on the horizon, from this perspective), from left to right, I think, are Mt Hayes, 10,065-foot Aurora Peak, and a "double" peak that is actuall Mt Shand (left/foreground) with the peak of Mt Moffit sticking up in the background to the right of it From Denali Highway in Alaska.

This was my first Atlantic Salmon ever, a 23" landlock from a Finger Lakes tributary. It rose up from the murky water, gulped my bright streamer near the surface, and sank down, almost like the rise form of a trout sipping a tiny bug. I set the hook and landed the fish after a fight that exceeded my high expectations. From Fall Creek, Ithaca Falls in New York.

It just feels wrong that no trout rose up from this ledge pool to smack a Royal Wulff. There doesn't seem to be much of a trout population here. From Toughannock Creek in New York.
