The Flavs pick up about a week after the closely related but larger Western Green Drakes (
Drunella grandis

) finish hatching on most Western waters.
Their hatches may be complemented by simultaneous hatches of two less prolific species,
Drunella coloradensis
and
Drunella spinifera
.
