Hey, Jason.

I'm very confused by the photo next to the ruler for a couple of reasons. It appears that your photo of this doddsii sub-imago puts it at just over an inch from head to end of the body (tails not included) which is around 25-30mm. But, you stated in some text related to D. grandis that the adult body length was around 13mm - aren't grandis over an inch? Also, my dry fly hooks (tmc 100 #10) are around 1/2 inch (12mm) from back of the eye to the bend, whereas the one in the photo next to the ruler is an inch long.

So, couple of questions here: when you say body length are you referring to the abdomen (sans thorax / head)?

And, what gives with your hook length / ruler in the photos? What hooks are those?

Thanks!
Jim

Hi Jim-

I suspect your confusion stems from assuming Jason's ruler is in inches as opposed to centimeters.
