Fish are looking up. We've also had some very good action with Grannoms on other streams.

Wow, nice fish Martin! It looks like the weather is going to turn a little nasty mid week here. Hopefully it will make a quick recovery. The Michigan general trout opener is this Saturday, so a lot of different options become available. Keep up the good work!
Mike.

First, I apologize for not recognizing your first name after all this time. So, yes and thank you so much. I will post some pics when I get one that’s almost perfect. But really these are cool, I’m going up for a few days Tuesday, my only concern is the water level are so low here that I may have to search out some deeper water. I hate to say it but we need some rain.
Mike.

I’m going to the most knowledgeable with question, so Louis, or anyone of the great trout nuts, I fished today and it was very slow. However there were hundreds of Hendrickson spinners all day long, no they weren’t doing there thing for a better term. But there were females and males at times with in a few feet of the water. I’m wondering what is the triggering factor for a spinner fall? I’m guessing water temp., but maybe air temp also. Are there other contributing factors? It’s fascinating to watch and wonder at Mother Nature at work?
Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike, one of the true bug experts will know more about spinners than I do. I think weather is a factor, and a calm night at the right temperature will lead to a spinner fall. I've read that rainy days can delay spinners, and the first nice day after, the fall can be heavy. I'm sure there are other factors at play, and would venture a guess that it's hard to know all of them. No problem on the name--I've had people think my last name was my first all my life. I'm used to it. All best wishes.
