Fly Fishing in Italy

Seattle Posts: 1	I am planning a trip to Italy next June. I have selected my rivers in and around Tuscany. What are the public access rules for rivers in Italy. Is the land private and you need to get permission for river access, are there river easement like in Montana, can you access most of the rivers through Italy's equivalent of national parks, etc.. Any help would be most appreciated.

York & Starlight PA Posts: 2733	I know from a fellow who builds rods in Italy that most trout fly fishers travel north to Slovenia and Croatia for their trout fishing. On river I remember is called the Gacka. It is a huge spring creek. Regarding your access questions you might try Googling those key words. Edit; Dec 07, 2016 Since I made my post I looed at a YouTube video of trout fishing in Tuscany and I can see now where there is some lovely water, and really uniquely spotted, brown trout there. I think I also saw a picture of a European grayling. Catching a couple nice 15"-16" grayling would make the trip fantastic.

Fairmont, WV Posts: 3	I've read about trout fishing in the region Molise. Its a rural area that my grandmother is from. Post pics when you return please! I'd love to fish europe.
