Marvin and I fished from May 24-May 28, but our most productive time was on the Deschutes. We hit the Columbia River for smallmouth, the Metolius for whitefish (we tried for trout, but they said "no"), and the Crooked River for trout, but the Deschutes was the most productive. Elke Littleleaf and his son Buck guided us on the reservation waters, and they took us to some great spots. We caught a bunch of fish both days, mostly on stoneflies, but we did see some Green Drakes and Marvin added a Drake dropper and fish ate it enthusiastically.
"He spread them a yard and a half. 'And every one that got away is this big.'"

Well done, Louis! Beautiful 'bows! & Oregon is such a spectacular state! Been trying to get back there since the early 90s when I lived there...
No matter how big the one you just caught is, there's always a bigger one out there somewhere...
