Ephemerella needhami (Little Dark Hendrickson) Mayfly NymphEphemerella needhami (Little Dark Hendrickson) Mayfly Nymph View 5 PicturesI took quite a few notes at the microscope when I collected this specimen. They're attached to the appropriate pictures.

I found this specimen in the same collection as a similar one. Since I only have strange views of this one, it's possible that they're actually the same specimen and I somehow confused my picture-ordering and got the impression that they're different nymphs.

Leptophlebia cupida (Borcher Drake) Mayfly NymphLeptophlebia cupida (Borcher Drake) Mayfly Nymph View 4 PicturesThis one survived several days in an aquarium before being photographed. Leptophlebia cupida is known as a durable species.

I'm trying to try a similar specimen (link to the next specimen) and see how that works.

Cordulegaster Dragonfly NymphCordulegaster Dragonfly Nymph View 4 PicturesThis is a realy big, dark dragonfly nymph. Notice how "fuzzy" it is--it's covered with small hairs that collect sediment and debris and camouflage the nymph to match its natural surroundings. The greenish cast in some of the photos of this specimen is due to strange lighting during my first night photographing things for this site.
