My biggest fish of the trip, a 21-inch rainbow. I caught this one after hooking two others that were at least as big and losing them when they took off downstream through the rapids.

The target of those long casts was the far end of that dark piece of flat water behind the rear boulder.

My dad scrambles along the rocks at the base of this canyon as an 18-inch, wild Alaskan rainbow gives him the best fight he's ever had from a fish.

I love this 360-degree panorama of our campsite after a nice day of fishing the Gulkana. Back in the trees my dad (on the right) is chatting with "Moose" from Blue Moose Rafting (on the left).
While I was taking pictures of the whitefish I caught, I heard loud splashing in the water upstream. Two caribou cows and their calves were crossing the river. (Only one calf is visible here.)
