Hi all!
I’m new to this site as of today. I’m hoping that someone may have some experience fishing this water. My brothers and I are heading up to fish Tomahawk creek flooding and a couple of us are hoping to fish the East branch of the black river for brook trout. Any advice would be welcome including other spots to fish in that area. I’m completely unfamiliar with the area, so any help is very much appreciated. We will be there the weekend of the 27th of June.

Thanks all,

Jon

Jon, wish I could be more helpful, but I have not fished the Black myself. I might suggest Michigan troutstreams a fly anglers guide, it is excellent book with good suggestions on access sights. Given that I have had people tell me to fish the area around Tin Shanty bridge, but that's just some folks I worked with. I think you will find folks up there very helpful, and the areas is goregus! My Grandpa was from Atlanta Michigan, and those folks are very proud of there brook trout.
Mike.

Mike,
Thanks for the response, I’ll check that area out and let you know how it goes. I grew up in de Michigan and was always chasing bass and pike so making this trip home after several years looking for trout is like discovering a whole new state!
