| Pleasant Gap, PA Posts: 538 | managed to catch 3 or 4 fish for a total of 24 inches(that's martell for you). Let's see, that would mean either three eight-inchers or four six-inchers, if my math serves. Barely fish, if you ask me. In PA, we don't even begin counting until we've caught one a foot long - perhaps that's the root of the confusion. So when we say stuff like, "I caught several nice fish," what we mean is that we caught 3 or 4 fish in the 14+ range, and probably a few dozen smaller than that not worth mentioning. It's a way of giving an accurate stream report without stooping to wanton bragging. I know a lot is lost in the subtlety... -Shawn | |

| "Bear Swamp," PA Posts: 866 | Louis, I'll remind you of the old definition of a Yankee that says something to the effect that to a foreigner, a Yankee is someone from the US; to a Southerner, a Yankee is someone from the North; to a Northerner, a Yankee is someone from New England; to a New Englander...etc. So, my Southern friend, we're all Yankees in someone's eyes--it's just a matter of perspective and degree. | |

| Chambersburg, PA Posts: 157 | Falsifly, To come to Louis defense I will dredge up the dreaded nuclear parachute/spinner. In which Louis yet again ventured to attempt something outside of the box to contend with those PHD level trout not so much out of need but rather for the intellectual "hell of it". Hmmmmm perhaps not the best example! Louis how is the view from under that bus? John | |

| Palmyra PA Posts: 903 | I'll have to reinstate my comments, and thank my generous friend in WI. The package has not yet arrived, but it will just add some nice flow to local streams, melting quickly, if it does. | |

| chester county pa Posts: 19 | Im down here in chester county where wild trout are very rare and elbow to elbow fishing in the spring is the norm. I dont do much trout fishing down here unless its at a few select secret spots ive found over the years. Instead i head upstate or out west. | |
