Caught this on 5/27/14 @ 12:10 CDST.
There are currently 225 guests on Troutnut.com

Since a lot of us are numbers guys (number of fish caught or largest fish caught) maybe a little contest on who can capture the largest number of fish lurking here. I don’t know if there is a way to verify the catch so let’s just assume that all catches will be honest and sans the typical fisherman’s tendency to exaggerate with a minimum of a date and time stamp. Should this topic bomb out with the BIG ZERO under replies then I shall pronounce myself the “WINNER”.

When asked what I just caught that monster on I showed him. He put on his magnifiers and said, "I can't believe they can see that."

You cannot be the default winner - you don't have a fish either :-)

Tell him Dave! We need pics, man, and not those where you are presenting them to us at arms length. :) You know the ones where your head is really small and that ten incher is thrust into the lens...

Allan...We are onto you WI boys...;)

You know how they have large numbered phones for the seniors? I think Jonathon has a "Measure-It" net that was designed for old-folk as well...Makes them 5 inchers appear to be foot longs...;)

Ba-zing-a!:)

Spence

Well...So far I'm only at a 15" Brown that I got to the boat on the evening of May 25th on an annual float of the S Branch of the Au Sable...I rolled a hog (cant't count it here) and had a 20"+ untie my shitty knot (can't count him either). All on Spencer's secret Henny parachute...

What Spence, no fishing report??? We didn't see one from your first trip either, though you did make some comments about freezing your ass off or something like that...

;oD

Jonathon

P.S. That Measure Net will keep you honest!
No matter how big the one you just caught is, there's always a bigger one out there somewhere...

I'm a numbers guy - in how many inches long your trout are. I never take the tape out if it looks less than 20".

I think Allan has been misunderstood.

Yes, I think he's already "caught" a few of us. I have one question for clarification - we're talking about real-life catching of a Troutnut, not personal online correspondence, correct? Also, does the "catching" have to be in the context of fishing?

Ok guys let me explain. When you visit or log onto Troutnut.com under "Forum" scroll down all the way through the “Most Recent Post”, just above “Forum Rules” you will see the number of people currently visiting the site. It looks like this:
There are currently 138 guests on Troutnut.com and these users:

The contest is to see who can capture, with a quote, the largest number of guests (fish) on the site. However, it must be backed up with the date and time.

How do I get a date and time stamp?

Never mind - the date and time appear on your post when you submit it.

I never saw that count of guests before. I had no idea there were so many lurkers present. I wonder why they don't join? Makes me think they just want to find out fishing tips and places to go but don't want to contribute anything.

That number is for the site as a whole, not just the forum. It includes everyone who does a google search for "Hendricksons" or something and winds up on this website (which is one of the top google results for almost any American hatch).

Jason...When did you start the site?

I was a difficult lunker, a bank feeder really, for quite sometime before I realized there even was a forum here...Can't even remember what "fly" made me pull away from the bank and get myself hooked...I've been a Trountnut "whore" ever since. :)

I came for the bug porn and stayed for the party. :) What sort of pervert looks at naked aquatic bugs? Yuk...
