Wow Mack, my condolences. Sounds like you lost just about your original fly fishing mentor there. As you say, RIP and thanks for the wonderful memories and inspiration.

Mack,

Sounds similar to my relationship with my grandfather in the late 60's early 70's. Those are special memories. I'm not sure where I'd be today if it wasn't for his tucking me up under his wings. He is the guy that first took me out in the woods and it was love at first sight.

I'm 60 now and find that I'm still sustained by memories of him. It sounds like he lived a long and full life and now will live on in a way with you and your memories.

It is one of those odd things in life, that when you think back on the events in it, the crossroads when you came to them, how sometimes you feel blessed and lucky that someone was there to point you in a loving direction.

Take care, sir!

Mack, sorry for your loss. If you can't find a buyer, might eBay be the way to go? A lot of trouble, but it may be better to get something rather than nothing, and some of the stuff will sell for sure. Don't know about that Zebra skin, though, might be careful with that one.

I'm sorry as well, Mack.

I don't think that is a blue Heron skin. I'm sure he knew better. As an endangered species, it is highly unlawful to possess even a few feathers here in the States. They are protected by international treaties involving migratory birds, so I doubt it's different in Canada. My understanding is even museums must have a special permit. Many exotic (but legal) pheasants look quite similar and are easy to confuse with heron. Regardless, I'd go easy on public discussions of what may or may not be in his collection.

That was a wonderful eulogy for, and about, your life long friend. I'm sure he is smiling down from Heaven after hearing how you have thought so highly of him.

Is there anywhere we can browse a list of materials. rods, reels, etc... that are available for sale?
