OK When a Maccaffertium larva is molting in the river or in my fish tank, APX how long is a normal time frame to emerge from the shuck to the next instar. I have had 2 die. I assumed they were died after 8 hours they were still at the same stage as when I first noticed them. Do the gills stop pulsing during this time or is that a indication that they have died.

Posts: 31Did you apply CPR? What about Mouth-to-Gill? Did you try defibrillation? What about inturbation? Did you get an EEG that showed no brain activity?

Dead just ain't what it used to be.

Usually, the molt is very quick. if they haven't made it out in 10-15 minutes, it probably isn't going to happen. not scientific numbers, just making a good guess.

Thanks Luke.

I figured that it would be about the same time
frame as it is to molt in the adult stage.

BTW, I found ( "Allen's Brook ") with access in, and likely the true site..
