" Dark Hendrickson & Light Hendrickson"

Because it was around the end of April early May and the darker one is
what I always referred to as E subvaria DK Hendrickson. I believe
the dark one to be that.

That being said. I was believing that the other lighter one might
be E rotunda LT Hendrickson. Only because the size and time frame
being toward the end of the subvaria hatching time frame.

But this also could be a variant to subvaria. I am hesitant on
that one mostly because the facial shape & and size of the pronotum
being different from the typical subvaria.

But we will see what they might be.

Mack.

The only things that I can make out in the photos are the lighter overall shade and the different tergal maculation on segments 7 through 9. You are probably correct that the lighter one is the synonymized larger form of E. invaria. Associating them next year with males and/or nymphs if you can would be a good idea.

Association is always important. I will run hopefully 4 fish tanks divided in 4 parts each. And because the sample sites are 15 minutes from home I should be able to make lots of associations of many genus & species.

My list is:
6 strains of Stenacron.
6 strains of Maccaffertium
4 strains of Heptagenia
and 6 strains of Ephemerella

I will be rotating the tanks and catching fresh ready to "POP" samples so they will likely only be in the tank 24 hours then I will have shuck and adult.

I can't wait!!! its awesome watching them emerge in a tank. I may be able to do video of that by spring.
