Salmon Rod Question

Fairbanks, Alaska Posts: 212	I can see the reason to get a high quality fly reel, but why would I want to spend a couple hundred dollars for a salmon rod instead of getting a hundred dollar rod? Thanks in advance, Sam P.S. Is there a good-fair salmon below one 150$?
