Howdy nuts! Just joined and looking forward to learning and chatting with all.

Jason's work is bug work is superb and the site is fantastic!

My wife and I are retired guides here in Colorado and are glad to be a resource for anyone coming up to fish. My new occupation is in upland & fly fish photography.

Happy Thanks to all.

Howdy Mike-

Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome aboard. Think I may recognize your name from another forum, but can't quite place it.
Best regards,

Welcome Mike! I'm glad you're enjoying the site. Do you have anywhere we can see your photography online?

Thanks gents. Yes, you can view my work at: www.mikespeerphoto.com. Once there, click on "Portfolio & Stock Images".

For the last several weeks I have been building this new portfolio using Adobe's new Lightroom software. This flash page was produced using their web module.

We are still working on the layout, fonts, etc. It will be ready for viewing by potential customers in a week or so.

I've been thinking of upgrading to something digital for my nature/stream photography, but at this stage of my life am on something of a budget. I currently use Pentax compatible lenses and would like to continue to do so with a new camera body. Do any of you have specific recommendations for a good used camera? Which is better, a digital SLR or straight digital?

Konchu - Your thoughts might be good for its own thread. I have encouraged Jason to start a trout photo forum. I will reply to your question on a new thread.

Hey guys,

It looks like I am a little late to the party but I do a bunch of fly fishing photography and can help with any advice you may need? We have just published some of our fly fishing Colorado images here.

Nicely done Troutbum32. The Poudre is the river I fish now, and you're correct about waiting till evening. The big browns come out to play then.

The Arkansas and Rio Grande, both spectacular rivers, especially that stretch between Del Norte and South Fork. The area at Wagon Wheel Gap on the Rio is where I learned this terrible addictive sport. Luckily, there isn't a cure.
