I took this picture in very low light and enhanced it. This waterfall is kind of a strange meeting of two worlds: below the falls, there is a parking lot and an old millhouse at a very popular state park. Above the little falls the park is wild and there's little trace of people.

This fun little brown trout was one of many caught during an evening of excellent caddisfly activity.





Here's my first arctic grayling, about 8 inches long. I was just thrilled to have caught my first grayling; I had no idea I would go on to catch 25 more (mostly larger), and that the next day would make this one look slow!

Everything just kind of blends together in this turbulent picture, taken during an early-season skunking on an unfamiliar stretch of river.

With my friend Brad Bohen at the oars of the drift boat, Don the Pond Monster and I tempted several very nice smallmouths and muskies on a productive evening float.
