The NY DEC has installed these trout habitat improvements on a small upstate stream.  I found that most fish in the stream orient to them. From the West Branch of Owego Creek in New York.

This deer ran at least a hundred yards in front of our canoe before it finally decided to get out of the river.  Here it just hurdled a beaver dam. From the Namekagon River in Wisconsin.

A few nice trout were rising in this deep pool during the tail end of a morning Drunella hatch, but I didn't manage to fool them. From Brodhead Creek in Pennsylvania.

My dad works his way through the shallows of a smallmouth river.  The hole around the large boulder might shelter bass in normal water, but we floated this stretch during a prolonged drought and the fish had left the shallows. From the West Fork of the Chippewa River in Wisconsin.
