I took great care to handle the best fish of the night, a 16+ inch rainbow trout, very gently for a picture. As usual, the fish slipped away before the photo. Here's one snapped too early, while I fumbled with the trout in the net. It's really there! Honest! From the Bois Brule River in Wisconsin.

This beautiful 21 inch brown was the first of several nice trout I caught in the best night of Isonychia fishing I've ever had. She smashed a big dry fly off the surface and fought like a nuclear submarine. From the Namekagon River in Wisconsin.
