This is one of the clearest lakes I've ever seen. All the white smudges in the foreground are midges hovering over the bushes.
A large, slow Catskill trout river meanders in the shadow of a mountain.
I saw this porcupine cross the road behind me while I was watching from a bridge for some large trout I'd heard about. I ran back to the car for the camera and got quite close for a picture. Speed is not one of the noble porcupine's many virtues.
I was looking for king salmon, but this fallfish was the biggest fish I found. Maybe if I had photoshopped it enough I'd have something to brag about...
My girlfriend holds her first trout up. The photo's blurry because the lens is covered with mist from the waterfall.
