These are very rarely called Cinnamon Sedges.

This may be the most important genus of caddisflies on American trout streams. Hydropsyche once held that honor, but its best species have been reclassified into Ceratopsyche.

Here's an underwater view of the pupal shucks of several already-emerged Brachycentrus numerosus caddisflies.
